Pattaya – Thailand – 16 – A wonderful holiday

From the very first moment, I fell in love with this handsome and wonderful man. He could have been a model or an actor — so charming and attractive — and, most importantly, he fell in love with me too.

We spent two wonderful weeks together at the hotel where he worked. Although he had to work during the day, we spent our evenings together and still managed to share many special moments, as I was staying at the hotel and we could make the most of our time together.

Unfortunately, those two weeks passed far too quickly, and the day we had to say goodbye arrived sooner than expected.

Early in the morning, we officially said goodbye in the hotel lobby and promised to call each other every Sunday at 6:00 PM CET. With tears in our eyes, I headed to the airport and returned to Germany.

I could hardly wait for the following Sunday. Was all of this really happening? Would he really be waiting for my call?

He was — and he had been expecting it. At that time, my English was still very limited, so I had even bought a translation device to help us communicate.

Despite the language barrier, we understood each other well. Three months later, we decided to meet again in Pattaya and spend 18 days together to get to know each other better and discover whether we could truly understand one another while sharing everyday life around the clock.

Those 18 days were wonderful. Even halfway through our holiday, we had already decided that he should come to Germany. We arranged everything with the embassy, which was relatively simple at that time. A declaration of commitment from me was enough, and the very next day, he received a three-month visa for Germany.

Of course, he still had to leave his job at the hotel in Thailand and give up his apartment, but fortunately, none of that was a problem.

Time passed, and one month later, I was waiting at the airport in Frankfurt for my Nop. Suddenly, an announcement over the loudspeaker asked me to report to the federal police.

An overly strict officer had stopped Nop and questioned him about why he wanted to stay in Germany for three months. He asked me the same question. I responded with a question of my own: whether Nop’s visa was valid and in order. When the officer confirmed that everything was fine, I simply turned to Nop and said, “Come on, let’s go — everything is okay.”

The officer looked a little surprised, but there was nothing more to be done. We left without any further problems and travelled home together to Saarland.

Once we arrived, I showed him everything and wanted him to feel reassured, because I could easily have told him stories or made promises just to persuade him to come to Germany.

But I am an honest and open person, and true love should never begin with a lie.
